November Month of Success.

What a blessed and quick month November was!

From Little Miss’ first Thanksgiving to her first Christmas tree. Our family Christmas pictures came out great, Little Miss turned 7 months old, Howard J. Elfowitz came back to our home, and we even did everything on our Fall Family Fun List!

I can’t wait to see what December has in store for my family!

2016, Full of Adventures!

Yes, it’s not even Christmas.  Heck it’s not even December 1st but we already have a year planned of adventures for 2016!
I’m so flipping excited that I have to share it!

Our year will begin looking for a house in hopes to move before April. It’s always been our goal to get into a house before Little Miss is old enough to remember our apartment.  I love our apartment,  two bedrooms,  two bathrooms, brand new stainless steel appliances,  and a washer and dryer. However, adding a baby and her million toys we ran out of room really quick.
During our house search, I’ll be starting the planning for Little Miss’ first birthday party. Seriously,  where did the time go that I’m going to be planning her birthday party??

And the biggest adventure we have set…we’re going to Disney World next December for my birthday!! It’ll be Little Miss’ first time there and we think it’s a great age for a 3 day trip! This idea came about this morning. We were originally planning on taking her in June and then thought maybe in October for Halloween and my husband suggested for my birthday. That was she’s a little older, she won’t miss out on the fun Disney Halloween activities and I’ve never been for my birthday!

We went to Disney for our honeymoon and had such a great time, I even had a blast planning everything!! I cannot wait to share even more as the year goes by!

But for now, check back later this week for my month of success,  December goals and what our elf Howard has been up to!!

Little Miss’ First Thanksgiving!

I couldn’t have asked for a better way to celebrate Thanksgiving! I feel so incredibly blessed to have been able to celebrate with the 4 people that mean the world to me. My daughter, my husband, my mama and my Daddy-o.

Our day actually started with a special guest this morning!

Our elf, Howard J. Elfowitz flew in this morning!  We found him hanging out in Little Miss’ stocking. I can’t wait to share his adventures with you guys this month!

We spent the holiday at my parents’ house. It was a dinner straight out of a movie. Everyone at the table, tons of food, good conversation,  and tons of love.
Little Miss even joined us at the table.

As a special treat, Little Miss even had turkey with us. It was the Gerber baby food turkey, sweet potatoes and grains and she loved it!

Even though it was a quiet Thanksgiving,  it was one of the best Thanksgiving’s ever and I’m so thankful to have such a wonderful family to share the holidays with.

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Family Christmas Photos 2015

We went to Picture People today for our family Christmas pictures!  And my goodness next year, we will be doing our pictures in the beginning of November and not on a Saturday.  Holy huge families with tons of kids…in a not so large area.

Regardless,  Little Miss did great, not one cry or fuss.

Here’s a few pictures from our session today!

We’ve already order our Christmas cards and cannot wait to mail out our first family Christmas card!

Learning Games for Little Miss.

Being a 7 month old baby it’s kind of hard to find something that will be educational for her. We read to her often, she has her favorite cartoons which are educational.  Yes we are those parents that allow their baby to watch TV. We don’t just put her in front of the TV all day but she does watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Doc Mcstuffins.

Earlier I finally decided to update my iPad,  I’ve had this thing for like 3 years and barely use it. I don’t really need it so its always just sat on the table. I decided to see if there were apps for infants, I figured there’s basically an app for everything else why wouldn’t there be something for my daughter?

I downloaded two from Fisher Price, the Learning Letters Puppy and the Shapes and Colors Music Show. Little Miss was interested right away, considering she loves to grab phones and remotes, now mommy was actually showing her she can press and touch the iPad.

Now, A and I have already decided as she gets older she’s not going to be given an iPad or phone to play with. She’ll be given crayons and color books,  toys, the ability to use her imagination. But for now it’s important to us to show her new things and give her the chance to learn early.

I recommend checking out all the apps available from Fisher Price for your little one.

Baby’s First Christmas Tree.

Our week has been so exciting!  I talked A into putting up the Christmas tree and decorations early! He always tries to wait it out til December,  I try and contain myself til the day after Thanksgiving but with it being Little Miss’ first Christmas,  I couldn’t wait.
Since we have a busy week with our family Christmas pictures,  dinner with A’s family, Thanksgiving and then decorating at my parents it only seemed right to put up our decorations a week early.

Of course our Christmas decorations are all Disney. One day I’ll get my Disney Christmas village set. One day. But right now I definitely can’t complain that our tree is all Disney ornaments.
Plus a special Baby’s first Christmas ornament went up.

Homemade Cream of Chicken Rice Soup

My dad and I made another soup last week that came out delicious!  I love that we do our Friday cooking and movie days, it makes for a great tradition and I learn recipes to be able to share with Little Miss as she gets older.

Here’s what you need-
Boneless/skinless chicken breasts cut.
Chicken paste
Mushrooms
Carrots
2 onions
One box of Minute Rice
3 sticks of margarine
Flour
Half gallon of milk

Start by sautéing your chicken in your soup pot, once cooked add your chopped vegetables and let cook.

image

Once vegetables are cooked fill your pot about 2/3 full with water and let come to a boil.

image

Once water is boiling, add chicken paste. For this size pot I use one jar of chicken paste for full flavor.
Mix paste in and add your half gallon of milk and box of rice.

image

While waiting for this to boil, in a separate pot melt your margarine on low, careful to not burn it.

image

Once margarine is melted, using a whisk slowly add scoops of flour until you have a thick paste like mixture.

Pour mixture into soup while stirring constantly until soup is at a thick consistency.  Add pepper for taste.

Enjoy!

Happy 7th Months Little Miss!

Our daughter is 7 months today! My goodness the time just flew by! It’s amazing that even though I’m with her everyday, to see the changes in her that happened literally before my eyes.

This past month has been so much fun! From all of her Halloween costumes, her first trips to the pumpkin patch, trick or treating, her Fall photos, and learning how to army scoot across the floor. We had a great month!

She has 3 teeth now, she tried chicken and vegetables baby food and loved it, she’s even become a little dare devil in her jumper.
And, huge plus… she sleeps through the night!!!

Here’s a few of her 7 month pictures.
