March Success.

Gosh I can’t believe it’s going to be April already!

We had such a fun packed March and I’m so excited to recap and share everything with you!

Besides celebrating Little Miss’ first St. Patrick’s Day and Easter, we celebrated her turning 11 months old!

March was also full of first for Little Miss. We went on our first family vacation to Lake Geneva, her first time out of state! While in Lake Geneva we toured the Jelly Belly Warehouse. Little Miss also got her ears pierced and had her first haircut this month!

A and I always had a date night and I was able to squeeze in some “me time” and get a whole new look. That’s right, no more purple long hair.

Little Miss met the Easter bunny, colored Easter eggs and received a bunch of Easter baskets!

We also squeezed in a few craft days, built up our Fairy Garden and had a couple trips to the park!

Over the next couple of days, I’m going to be looking back on a year ago on our wait for Little Miss, leading up to the day she was born. I’m also going to be sharing everything you need for a Sofia the First 1st birthday party, and also a very special post coming this Saturday!

Little Miss’ First Easter.

We had a fantastic first Easter with Little Miss, especially considering last year on Easter I was 6 days past my due date and in false labor at the hospital for 4 hours.

We had taken her to see the Easter Bunny, which she didn’t care for or even understand. But she didn’t cry.

Putting together an easter basket was a little difficult since she can’t have candy. Instead we filled her basket with Crayola Color Wonders markers and books. Well done Crayola for making markers that only color on certain paper. We also put a few new board books and some new spring clothes.

A few of her aunts and cousins had given her baskets with her favorite Gerber snacks and stuffed animals. And her Nana and Papa gave her a brand new Disney Princess book and her very first snowglobe.

Mommy and Daughter Hobby.

There’s nothing more magical to me than fairies. I love everything about fairies and the stories they have to offer, the movies, the magic I feel every time Little Miss and I watch the Tinkerbell movies, seriously I love it all.

Before Little Miss was born, I would always stop at our local gardening store and buy a few fairy houses for our patio. When we found we were having a little Miss, I decided I wanted to share my love of fairies with her and make fairy gardens our hobby.

Today we started that hobby, however since we don’t have a backyard I decided we would start our hobby as a miniature set that I can set up in her room.

We went to our local craft store and they had a huge selection of everything we would need and it was all 40% off!

Our finished projects ended up being a little smaller than I had wanted so I used our left over pieces on her dresser to start her fairy village!

New Changes.

Over the next couple of weeks, our house is going to be a little bit crazy. Between Little Miss turning 1 years old, planning her birthday and birthday party, A going out of town and I have another retreat weekend, I’m going to be taking some time to focus on home and making sure my family gets all of the attention they need.

I’m also going to be updating and redoing a lot of work on my blog. If you haven’t already noticed, I have a new category, Craft Life, because life has been wonderful lately and has allowed me to finally start crafting again.

If you’re not already, follow me on Instagram to keep up to date with what Little Miss and I are up to during our break.

Little Miss is 11 Months Old!

Yesterday we celebrated Little Miss turning 11 months old. I honestly cannot believe the next time I write one of these post it’s going to be about her being an entire year old.

The past month Little Miss has gone to see the Easter Bunny, has enjoyed a new foods,  she now has 8 teeth, and of course she just had her first weekend getaway with us in a new state.

The next couple of weeks will be full of post about planning her first birthday party.

Our First Family Getaway!

What a weekend we had! Like most 1st time parents, and maybe even non-parents, we definitely over packed. But that’s ok, it’s better to have more than we need then not enough!

This was our first family trip, and also Little Miss’ first time out of state, and in the car longer than a half hour.

We stayed the weekend at Timber Ridge Lodge at the Grand Geneva in Lake Geneva, WI. A family resort that had an indoor water park, arcade, and family activities. Plus being only 5 minutes from downtown Geneva, we had so much to keep us busy!

Our first day we hung around the resort and explored and also played at the arcade.
The resort also had a restaurant inside so we were able to enjoy a nice dinner after driving up there.

Our full day there we started with the waterpark and then toured the Jelly Belly warehouse!

After our morning adventures, we went out for lunch to downtown Lake Geneva and explored the town. I came across a wonderful children’s book shop and right next door was a shop full of handmade items.

We decided to hit the waterpark one more time that evening, which included a waterslide for Little Miss and the lazy river.

We had such an amazing weekend and couldn’t have spent our time in a better way. For it being the first time Little Miss has been away from home for that long of a time, we made sure to bring as much as possible for her to feel like she was home. We definitely didn’t skip out on the toys and cartoons to watch.

If you’re ever looking for a weekend trip, or even a random trip I’d high recommend the Timber Ridge resort, from the shops to activities it’s a wonderful place to spend with your family and unplugg for a couple of days. There’s nothing more special than watching your little one explore new places and seeing all of those moments because you don’t have a phone in your face.

We’ll definitely be back there, especially because of all the activities they have for toddlers and families, but also even to just spend a day to go to downtown Lake Geneva and visit the shops again.

Mermaid Day.

Yesterday Little Miss and I had a mermaid day with our friends Jayne and Skyler! Just as we did Fairy day, we had an entire day based off of mermaids.

Our day started with matching outfits of course.

image

For our craft, we made a trip to see what our brains could come up and after trying to think of something that could be fun for a 3 year old and a baby, we decided on mermaid jars. Mainly because it was easy and not messy. But also because our fairy dust jars were super fun to make.

We picked up a few mason jars, shells, seashells, gravel, and gems.

image

While we were crafting, we watched the Little Mermaid tv series, which was even cooler because I watched that when I was a kid.

Us mom’s enjoyed sushi for dinner, kinda odd if you think about it…but it fit with our theme.

image

Little Miss may not understand these theme days, but she gets different crafts to have in her room, plus photos and as she gets older she’ll start to understand. And even though she doesn’t understand what we’re making, she still has so much fun watching and touching new objects.

Mom Planner.

In a previous post, I had mentioned how I keep up with our bills and appointments with a chalkboard calender and dry erase weekly planner.

Since I’m now working part time again, I had to get some sort of planner to keep with me and that I can update while I’m not home.

I came across my Mom’s family desk planner at Barnes and Noble, technically it’s a school year calender for moms with older kids, but it works just as great with Little Miss.

image

What I love even more about this planner is that each page is one week with a funny cartoon on the opposite page, but the week is split into two columns- one for mom and one for family.

Plus stickers, emergency number page, important information, and multiple to do and to buy lists that can be torn out and are double sided.

image

To make it even easier, I keep a paper clip on the current week and keep my list ready to go incase I think of anything that may require a Target trip.

My planner also comes with pockets, which is so convenient for holding coupons!

Toys and diapers may have taken over my life, but there’s no reason I can’t have some things organized in my life.

Hello March!

I’m so full of joy that it’s finally March, spring is coming and it’s almost Little Miss’ 1st birthday!

This month we have alot of new adventures and activities planned that I am so excited to share with you! We have a family weekend getaway planned, St. Patricks Day, which I’ll of course be posting Little Miss in her green outfits, Easter bunny visits, Little Miss’ first Easter, and tons of crafts!

This is also the month I’ll be a mess looking back on a year ago just waiting for Little Miss to make her appearance.
If anyone told me before I was pregnant that time flies once your child is here I would thought they were full of you know what. But it really does fly by. I still cannot believe my baby is going to be a year old. I still have a hard time believing I made it through my pregnancy, because that just lasted forever, and now we’re in the middle of planning her birthday and birthday party.

This month is also my month I’m going to focus on my spring cleaning. Last month I decluttered and threw away so much, 40 bags actually, so my “mom” projects included a spring cleaning checklist and a “financial takeover”.
And to finish reading Harry Potter #5.

I hope all of you are just as excited as I am for the changing of seasons!
